The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire, Inc. is excited to host their annual Savannah Day of Peace: Peace in the Park event on Sunday, October 1st, from 12 to 4 pm at Daffin Park.

Nominations for Peacebuilders are now open!  Complete a Peacebuilder nomination form to acknowledge all those building bridges in our community.  All nominations must be received by September 1, 2023, at 11:59 pm. A peacebuilder is an individual who advocates, encourages, or brings about peace; specifically one which seeks to implement measures intended to create or sustain peace in an area affected by conflict. Through peacebuilding the roots of the conflict can be removed. Seven peacebuilders will be selected by our 2022 Peacebuilders.  2023 Peacebuilders recipients will be honored on stage at Daffin Park on October 1, 2023. We’re looking for local performers to share their talent and promote peace! All musicians, poets, singers, and others are encouraged to submit a video or other platform where we can hear and see your talent. Submissions are open until September 1, 2023, at 11:59 pm. To submit your talent, please visit mediationsavannah.com/peaceinthepark for more information. Performers who are chosen will perform on the main stage at Peace in the Park on October 1, 2023.

Peace in the Park is a community event to unite in our shared interests of a healthy community and positive relationships.  We encourage all organizations, businesses, and families to show up for peace.  Imagine Daffin Park full of community members, local resources, food trucks, entertainment, and activities for kids.  Be part of the human peace sign we’ll make at the roundabout in Daffin Park after the peacebuilder awards and our peace walk.  We’re looking forward to filling Daffin for peace!
