The Seabrook of Hilton Head’s staff continue to work with a leading not-for-profit organization, LeadingAge South Carolina. An affiliate of its national partner, LeadingAge National, LeadingAge South Carolina works to ensure that long-term care will continue to meet the needs of older Americans.
Chris Romick, The Seabrook of Hilton Head's Executive Director, said that LeadingAge South Carolina's member communities include life plan communities, assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, affordable housing, home and community-based services, home health, and more. Member communities are sponsored by private, community and religious organizations and share a common commitment to provide quality care and services to older adults.
Romick recently began his service on LeadingAge South Carolina's Board of Directors
Peter Marshall, Administrator of The Seabrook of Hilton Head's Fraser Health Center, has been recognized for serving on LeadingAge South Carolina's Board of Directors for the past four years and he has completed his role with the board. "During Peter's time of service, much of the board's work was during the COVID-19 pandemic," Romick noted. "Peter and the board had many important Zoom calls dedicated to providing valuable information to members during the pandemic." Marshall added that he found his time on the board to be a very rewarding experience.
According to LeadingAge South Carolina, the nation's not-for-profit aging services providers are on a mission to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care to the residents/clients they serve. The good news for the older Americans, their families, and the entire long-term care field is that they are succeeding. At a time when long-term care is under intense scrutiny, not-for-profit providers are showing that there is a difference when it comes to quality. By consistently providing more hands-on care and developing new, more creative ways to meet the needs of their residents, not-for-profits are setting the standard for quality in the field.
LeadingAge South Carolina's members employ approximately 8,000-mission-oriented staff serving more than 10,000 older South Carolinians. For more information about LeadingAge South Carolina, please go to https://leadingagesc.org/ .
