District Live Adds Exciting New Concerts to Fall Schedule

District Live, a state-of-the-art live music venue at Plant Riverside District in Savannah, Ga., recently added three exciting new shows to an already impressive Fall 2023 concert line-up
Georgia country rock sensation July Turner will take center stage at District Live on November 11, and hot country artist Chase Matthew will dazzle audiences on December 2. In addition, the much-anticipated performance of Princess Goes — a critically acclaimed New Wave band featuring Dexter actor Michael C. Hall on vocals, Blondie keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen and The Wallflowers drummer Peter Yanowitz — has been rescheduled for December 9.

July Turner is a white-hot singer-songwriter who was raised in Georgia and moved to Nashville. An independent artist, Turner brings his own style to the country music genre, combining the songwriting of decades past with radio-ready production quality and a modern cowboy delivery. His music is heavily influenced by legendary rock and country artists, ranging from Aerosmith and Bob Seger to Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney. To date, Turner has opened for several well-established artists including Ed Roland of Collective Soul, Judah & The Lion, Seven Year Witch and Carter Winter. Opening act: Ashley Brooks. Talented country star Chase Matthew went from being a high school dropout experiencing homelessness to a top artist selling out venues across the nation with live performances of hit songs like “Love Again,” which gained notoriety on TikTok. Named to HITS Magazine’s “One to Watch” and Country Now’s “Artists to Watch in 2023,” Matthew has garnered more than 3.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. To date, he has made noteworthy appearances at CMA Fest, the Carolina Country Music Fest and performed live on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage. Princess Goes is a critically acclaimed trio comprised of vocalist, lyricist, musician and Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen (Blondie) and drummer Peter Yanowitz (The Wallflowers, Morningwood). A theatrical sensibility is part of the trio’s DNA, especially in live shows, since the band members originally met on Broadway during the production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Princess Goes offers a stripped-down synthesizer-and-drum attack and is informed by a wide range of influences, including the glam, experimental, ambient music of David Bowie, Giorgio Moroder’s ‘70s disco productions for Donna Summer, ‘80s new wave and contemporary electronic dance music. Originally from Gainesville, Fla., Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted musicians who have been called “one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years” by Performing Songwriter Magazine. The band’s hit song "All for You" topped the adult alternative charts in 1997 and propelled their album to platinum status. Since then, the band has become firmly established in rock, alternative and country music, with four back-to-back Billboard Top Country Album Chart entries. Living up to their fan-centered reputation, the band was a pioneer in the themed cruise industry by co-founding “The Rock Boat” and annually hosts events like the “Hazelnut Hang” and “Camp Hazelnut.” Sister Hazel has been equally attentive to connecting with their audience through social media having amassed over a million social followers. Defined by the beautiful harmonies of husband-and-wife team Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano, JOHNNYSWIM translates the memories and milestones on their journey into spirited, slick and soulful anthems steeped in the singer-songwriter tradition, yet amplified by alternative experimentation, rock energy and pop ambition. Their song “Home” notably served as the theme song for HGTV’s hit television show “Fixer Upper.” To date, the duo has garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, The New York Times, Huffington Post, Nylon and performed on “The Today Show,” “CONAN” and more. Soul Sessions will be hosted by acclaimed actress, singer and Lovely Diva Productions founder Patrice Lovely, who is best known for her work with Atlanta filmmaker Tyler Perry, including starring roles in several “Madea” films, as well as her current hit shows on Tubi, Ma’s House and Ma’s Wild Adventures.
