Bank of America Supports Loop It Up Programming in Local Schools

A long-standing partnership between local nonprofit Loop It Up Savannah and Bank of America is yielding cool things in local schools.
Loop It Up recently received a $5,000 grant from Bank of America, which will directly support the nonprofit’s Mindfulness Zone program. Shortly thereafter, a group of volunteers from the bank spent a day at Haven Elementary School installing a Mindfulness Zone room – a dedicated, safe space that students can visit throughout the day and learn wellness skills, participate in yoga, make art and learn new ways to express their feelings, emotions and needs.
“We are grateful for Bank of America’s ongoing support of our Mindfulness Zone program,” Loop It Up founder and Executive Director Molly Lieberman said. “When we partner with a school to set up a new Mindfulness Zone, we are adding an additional layer of resources to support the school’s positive culture, climate and resilience.”
Emerging Leaders at Bank of America made up the volunteer group at Haven Elementary, and they worked with students from the 21st Century After School Program to create decorations for the mindfulness space.
"We are honored to continue our longstanding partnership with Loop It Up Savannah, a beacon of positive change in our local community. Bank of America is proud to support the Mindfulness Zone program, providing students at Haven Elementary School with a dedicated space to cultivate wellness, creativity and resilience” said Patrick O’Neil, president of Bank of America Savannah. “At Bank of America, we believe in investing in the wellbeing of our community, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive outcomes of our collaboration with Loop It Up Savannah."
Bank of America has also shown support for Loop It Up’s literacy program, Looping Literacy Together. The company held a book drive to benefit the nonprofit’s signature Book Box Library project, which provides a wooden crate and 10 or more books for roughly 500 kindergarten students each school year.
“The time Bank of America volunteers spend with our students is meaningful, impactful and truly makes memories that will not be soon forgotten,” Lieberman said. “We appreciate Bank of America’s multi-level investment in the wellbeing of our community.”
This is the fifth consecutive year Loop It Up has been awarded grant funds from Bank of America and the fourth year those funds have supported the Mindfulness Zone program. Bank of America has also made other monetary donations since 2019 supporting Looping Literacy Together and STEAM Dream, Loop It Up’s program encompassing science, technology, school gardening and more.
