Tuesday, November 7th, 2023

Harrison Tran, a junior at Jenkins High School, has been selected as a member of the PBS News Hour Student Reporting Labs Student Advisory Council!

Harrison is one of just twenty-six students chosen nationwide to advise the prestigious news program on students' perspectives on critical issues.  As a member of the team, Harrison will provide feedback on stories about national news items important to students, pitch unique stories, and participate in an advanced journalism internship.

Harrison is an outstanding young man engaged politically and civically in his community and school.  He serves as a Policy Fellow for the Deep Center's Action Research Team, assistant editor of the Jenkins High yearbook, and is a key member of the Jenkins Model United Nations and Student Ambassador teams.

The PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs is a hands-on student journalism training program that connects students to real-world experiences. Students selected to participate in this prestigious program bring their perspectives to real-world issues, contribute to SRL projects, and pitch stories, and provide feedback in the selection of SRL prompts.
