Eight each High School Students Earn Phlebotomy Certification

Eight students in the Medical and Allied Health Professions Program at Alfred Ely Beach High School have earned their Phlebotomy certification. These students have shown mastery of their skills and have worked in the on-site medical clinic sponsored by St. Josephs/Candler Hospital, where they are supervised by an on-site nurse practitioner. These students have completed their clinical rotation and all necessary criteria to become certified Phlebotomists, and are workforce ready.
This opportunity for students is made possible through the Office of College and Career Readiness (OCCR) and the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs in Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. The Beach High School Medical Clinic is a partnership between SCCPSS and St. Joseph's/Candler Health System.
