16th Annual Dancing with Savannah Stars Launch Party
Wednesday, January 24th, 2024
Brightside Child & Family Advocacy announces the launch party for its 16th annual Dancing with Savannah Stars signature fundraising event. This event will be held on January 30th from 5:30-7:00 pm at Cha Bella, downtown Savannah.
Each 2024 Star is tasked with raising $15,000 on behalf of Brightside Child & Family Advocacy to help advance its mission to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening and supporting healthy family relationships. Their efforts will ensure that every child in foster care has a CASA volunteer working to increase the child’s access to services, promote safety, and advocate for permanency. Research has shown that children with a CASA volunteer fare much better in the child welfare system and in adulthood than those who do not.
This year’s participating dancers include Marge Wester of Marge Wester Real Estate, Liz Giddens of Belfor Property Restoration, Nikki Warner of Resilient Georgia, JT Kowlachuck of Tharpe Engineering, Cecilia Arango of Thomas and Hutton, Jordan Russell of Riverview Health and Rehabilitation, Maria Moss of Pheonix Leadership, Adot and Tye Whitely of Chunk’s Learning Center, Bob Crimian of COMPASS Science Communication, Kristi Duke of Savannah Behavioral Pediatrics, and Aria Janel of WTOC.
“Dancing with Savannah Stars has become a premier fundraising event in our community. The entire campaign leading up to the big night is an amazing collaboration of positivity and inspiration that lives within Chatham County. At Brightside, our team works hard to ensure that children with highly traumatic experiences have the support that they need by training volunteers, providing parental resources, and creating healthy family relationships. The fundraising efforts of each Savannah Star serve as a vital part in fulfilling our mission.” says Kate Blair, Executive Director of Brightside Advocacy.
All of the funds raised from the campaign will be used to support Brightside Advocacy’s Savannah CASA and Bright House programs. With the support of our neighbors, Chatham County can become a community where every child is given the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home
