SA Recycling Presents $5000 Check to Future Minds Literacy at New Location Ribbon Cutting

Wednesday, January 10th, 2024

SA Recycling, Georgia’s largest metal recycling company, announces partnership with Future Minds Literacy at the ribbon ceremony of their second location in Savannah. The ribbon cutting and $5000 check presentation will be held Friday, January 12th at 11:30am at their new location at 500 Staley Avenue, Savannah GA.

“While our Garden City facility focuses on large-scale, automobile and metal shredding on a large 40 acres complex, our new facility on Staley Avenue is a small neighborhood collection facility and does minimal processing. The facility’s purpose is to provide a convenient, local drop off spot for items to recycle, thereby, saving people time, money and gasoline by not having them drive all the way out to the industrial park on Sonny Perdue, off Dean Forest Road,” states SA Recycling Regional General Manager Bobby Triesch.

“We want to be an exemplary corporate citizen, and make a real difference in the quality of lives of our neighbors. My personal goal is that one year from now, and every year thereafter, if someone were to ask you ‘who is the best corporate citizen that you have in your community’, it is my hope and plan that you would say, without hesitation, SA Recycling,” adds Triesch. “It all begins with forming relationships with respected local non-profits like Future Minds Literacy. ”

Future Minds Literacy and Adult Education, Inc. is a specialized program designed to offer youth and adults 14 and older who do not yet have a diploma or high school equivalency (GED) an educational option other than being a high school dropout. Future Minds Literacy and Adult Education, Inc. offers a unique opportunity to support at-risk youth and adults by providing support from partnering agencies.

“Dollars donated to Future Minds by way of SA Recycling Company will assist the organization with its newly launched program, Future Minds 2.0, which is an Accelerated Program of 20 weeks. The funds will also assist with the purchase of practice and official GED exams as well as other educational resources that are essential for participants learning success,” shares Future Minds Literacy Executive Director Zelonia Williams.
