Step One Automotive Group Launches All New Step One Local Heroes Campaign Awarding Greenbriar Children’s Center During 35th Grab-n-Go Meals

Step One Automotive Group will launch an all new Local Heroes Campaign awarding Greenbriar Children’s Center during their 35th Grab-n-Go Meals for veterans and first responders. The monthly awards event will be held Tuesday, January 24 from 11am to 1pm at the Step One Auto South Savannah Store located at 8701 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA 31406.
“Since April 2020, Step One Grab and Go Meals for Local Heroes has been dedicated to bringing our community together, showing appreciation and supporting local businesses. Together with Savannah Food Truck force we served 3,300 delicious meals to first responders, military, veterans, and medical workers and honored fourteen incredible individuals and organizations. From veterans, police officers, EMS, medical workers, SWAT team members, single moms, cancer survivors, social workers, and volunteers, we put a spotlight on the dedicated givers in our community,” shares STEP ONE Marketing Manager Weslyn “Mahogany” Bowers.
“Moving forward in 2024, the Step One Team will recognize the incredible people and organizations that are making an impact every day. Every month, we will feature a different non-profit group and are proud to announce Greenbriar Children’s Center as our first recipient. We admire Greenbriar because of its unwavering dedication to serve families in our community for over 50 years. Providing affordable early child care learning programs including Georgia pre-K programs, Greenbriar is an organization that believes in preparing our future leaders and providing accessibility to families,” adds Bowers. “We will have community partner Latin Chicks food truck onsite serving fresh authentic Latin American cuisine.”
Celebrating their 75th anniversary, Greenbriar Children’s Center Executive Director Gena Taylor states, "Step One Auto’s donation of $1,000 will provide 6.5 weeks of affordable, accessible and quality-rated child care for parents who are trying to maintain stable employment and/or in school so that can they can provide for their family, can provide 11 hours of therapeutic counseling and parent education to at-risk families so they provide a safe and nurturing home for their children or provide seven nights of safe and nurturing shelter, food and clothing for a homeless, runaway or abused child.”
