26th Annual March of Dimes Shamrock Run Set for Friday

The 26th annual March of Dimes Shamrock Run 5K will kick-off St. Patrick’s Day festivities on Friday, March 1 in downtown Savannah. 

The 5K will begin and end in Ellis Square. The route will travel west on Bryan, turn south on Jefferson and then east on York, passing through Telfair Square and then to Wright Square. From there, runners will travel south down Bull Street, around Forsyth Park and back north on Bull Street through Wright Square and then to Johnson Square before turning west to end in Ellis Square. 

Street closures around the route will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1. The Kids Race will start at 6:10 p.m. with the 5K starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. Impacted streets will reopen by 10 p.m. 

All proceeds from the race will benefit March of Dimes, a nonprofit that carries out a mission of programs, research, community services, education, and advocacy to improve the health of moms and babies.
