The Jenkins Athletic Club (JAC), a Savannah nonprofit youth athletic club for boys and girls founded in 1933, is pleased to announce registration is open for the 8th Annual JAC Clays for Kids. The Clays for Kids event benefiting the youth athletic club will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Forest City Gun Club.

The Savannah community and clay shooting enthusiasts are invited to join this special fundraising event to support the growing needs of the nonprofit organization. All proceeds from this event directly benefit the JAC and its ongoing mission to provide safe and accessible athletic facilities and youth programs for the girls and boys of Savannah.

Clays for Kids Event Chair and member of the Jenkins Athletic Club Board of Directors Mark Stevens founded this event to help provide for a range of critical upgrades to JAC facilities to ensure the organization can continue to be a beacon of youth sports, summer camps, and often an additional resource for field and court space for Savannah schools. 

The JAC is currently in the middle of its annual rec basketball season for girls and boys ages six to 10 with a record 91 participating teams. “The number of basketball teams registered with the JAC continues to grow year over year underscoring the importance of the JAC,” said Stevens.

“Without ongoing funding and support from our patrons, we would not be able to care for and expand our facilities and programs to ensure the JAC is around for another 90 years,” continued Stevens. “Each year this event helps offset costs of JAC’s popular summer camps, sports programs, and updates to our facilities.”
