Live Oak Public Libraries adds Pooler Library Manager,Director of Communications & Strategic Partnerships

Live Oak Public Libraries welcomes Molly Rowe as Pooler Library Manager and Betsy McCullar as Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships. Both joined the LOPL team in January.

Rowe worked at the Bay County Public Library from 2018 to 2019 before moving to Hawaii to earn her Masters in Library Science. After graduating, she worked at the Hawaiian Mission Houses Archives and Historic Site as the archivist and librarian from 2012 to 2023.

"I am passionate about information literacy and increasing access to information. I am excited to be a part of the Live Oak family, adding to its legacy of providing resources and enhancing the community," Rowe said. "I look forward to serving Pooler and continuing to support lifelong learners there."

Rowe attended Armstrong Atlantic State University and the University of North Georgia, where she received her BA in History with a minor in Biology. She graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2021 with a MLIS, with a concentration in archival studies.

LOPL's new Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships, Betsy McCullar, is a veteran communications, branding and marketing professional. Most recently, McCullar consulted on mergers and acquisitions in a variety of consumer spaces through her own business, The Hilltop Alliance, LLC, with clients in North America, Europe and Asia.

McCullar is also active in the local community and a frequent volunteer. She currently serves on the Board of the League of Women Voters Coastal Georgia and is a recent past president of Telfair Academy Guild, a community engagement organization of Telfair Museums.

"Public libraries enrich so many people's lives every day," McCullar said. "I am thrilled to join the Live Oak Public Libraries' amazing team and look forward to sharing our story and continuing to build lasting community relationships consistent with our mission."

McCullar received a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a 10-year resident of Savannah, and lives with her husband on Skidaway Island.
