South of DeRenne Avenue (SODA), a monthly business networking luncheon, announces Caleb Harkleroad as the new Host Organizer and welcomes Seimitsu Chief Security Officer Scott C. Scheidt at their February 7th meeting held at 11:30am at Barnes Restaurant located at 5320 Waters Avenue.

“When my close friend Stephen Plunk of the Tourism Leadership Council told me his work focus would be redirected to Brunswick and the Golden Isles, he asked if I would take over the reigns of South of DeRenne Avenue. With the increased growth of this casual, no rules networking group, I jumped at the chance to bring diverse and informative speakers to the most entertaining group in Savannah,” shares Harkleroad Jewelers Vice President Caleb Harkleroad. “Kicking off with Seimitsu Chief Security Officer talking about cyber-security is a feather in my cap.”

As head of the Seimitsu TrueSecure Fusion Team, Scheidt is responsible for helping Seimitsu and their clients with risk management and mitigation in the areas of physical and cyber security. With vast experience as a military veteran with training and work in all-source intelligence operations, electronic warfare, and cyber operations, along with numerous cyber certifications in the business arena, Scheidt will discuss the basics all businesses should understand about what components make a strong organizational cybersecurity posture along with personnel and the infrastructure posture that should be in place to counter current cyber threats against small and medium businesses.

Certified in cyber security operations, network forensics analysis, incident response, and disaster response and recovery, Scheidt is also a part-time adjunct professor and teaches cyber warfare-related courses to include network defense and countermeasures, computer forensics, and ethical hacking and penetration testing.
