On March 1, Benjamin T. Simons resigned as Telfair’s Executive Director/CEO. Simons joined the museum in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic began and identified community needs that led to the opening of the Telfair Children’s Art Museum (CAM). Telfair’s Board of Trustees is forming a search committee to appoint the museum’s next Executive Director/CEO. 

Telfair Museums’ Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Joey Rudder as its interim director, effective immediately. As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Rudder has managed financial matters, daily operations, IT, and human resource functions for Telfair Museums since 2014. 

Board veteran and current Board Chair, Josh Keller, will continue to advise and ensure that Telfair meets its recently outlined strategic goals and further enhances community outreach programming and visitor experience.
