The City of Port Wentworth broke ground Friday, April 12 on its new state-of-the-art fire department. This 18,000 square foot facility is critical to the future of the Port Wentworth fire department and improving the fire protection services for residents. Port Wentworth has experienced exceptional growth, and this is the first new station for the city in over 15 years. The facility will be located in the city’s new Anchor Park.

“Our new fire headquarters will be located at 100 Anchor Park Boulevard, just off Highway 30 in the Northwest section of Port Wentworth. This state-of-the-art facility will serve the community for many years to come,” said Chief of Fire Lance Moore. “This four bay, 18,000 square foot structure will contain a training classroom that will also serve as our emergency operations center. It will have ample space to allow for future expansion of staff and equipment. The location is perfect to better serve the growing area North of Interstate 95. We are extremely excited for the opportunity to grow with the City of Port Wentworth.”
