Sandpiper Supply Awards 2024 "What Makes Savannah Home" Scholarships

Sandpiper Supply, Inc., a multi-generational local plumbing supplier and showroom, announces the winners of their sixth annual scholarships to local students. The top recipient, Hannah Blocker, of Richmond Hill High School, will receive a $1000 cash award for her winning essay. Second place Ansley McKee of Savannah Arts Academy will receive $500, and the third place was tied with essays by Emilee Pallone of Richmond Hill High School and Daniel Winters of Benedictine Military School and each will receive $250. Four honorable mention scholarships of $100 each were awarded to Rachel Gregory, B.Osten Sayers, Heitor Guedes Meirellas Ramos, and Riley Metzger. 

The scholarship is open yearly to high school seniors of good standing in the Chatham, Effingham, and Bryan counties. “We want these seniors to reflect on their formative years here in the Low Country, hone their talents at college, then bring those talents back to their roots to continue to make our home a better place” says Christy Ellis, Showroom and Scholarship Director at Sandpiper. Chat Howard, President of Sandpiper Supply remarked “It is always exciting to read these essays and to give young people from our area an opportunity to take a step back and appreciate Savannah and this beautiful area that we are blessed to call home”.    

Sandpiper Supply is pleased to offer these scholarships and plans to continue to offer them yearly. To date, over $12,000 in scholarships from Sandpiper Supply have been awarded.
