Property Transfers: Report Shows Savannahians spend 7% Above National Average on Expenses

According to the recently released 2024 Cost of Bills Index Report, Savannahians are paying 7% more than the national average on fundamental expenses, such as mortgage/rent, auto loans, utilities and insurance. That amounts to nearly $2,300 a month, or 44% of their income, dedicated for household expenses.

The index rates Georgia as the 10th most expensive state in the U.S, and Savannah as the 41st most expensive city in Georgia. Atlanta is llisted as the 10th most expensive large city in the nation, based on the portion of average income dedicated to the cost basic household expenses.
