2024 David M. Rubenstein Master Teachers to Lead Interactive Sessions

The White House Historical Association will host its ninth annual "White House History Teacher Institute" this summer. The program consists of two separate week-long, in-person immersive education experiences featuring exclusive visits to historic sites, introductions to new educational resources from the White House Historical Association, insights from historians, and conversations with former White House staff.

This year's Teacher Institute features special sessions led by David M. Rubenstein Master Teachers. The group consists of seven educators across elementary, middle, and high school levels who previously attended the annual Institute and were selected to teach their own interactive sessions.

The list of 2024 Master Teachers Include Tomika Courtney-McClinton, the current SCCPSS Specialist for Elementary Social Studies for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. In her 27 years of teaching Tomika has earned multiple degrees and endorsements in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle Grades History and Social Science, Middle Grades Language Arts, Gifted Education, Reading, Coaching, Teacher Support and Coaching, and Personalized Learning.   Last year, Ms. McClinton was selected as one of only 30 educators nationwide to participate in the 2023 White House History Teacher Institute.

The White House History Teacher Institute is in session July 8-12 and July 15-19. The White House History Teacher Institute will take place at the White House Historical Association's David M. Rubenstein National Center for White House History, located just a block from the White House.
