School resumes in a couple of weeks but already, teachers are hard at work getting ready for the new year.  Nearly 1000 Savannah-Chatham County Public School educators across grades K-12 will attend the 2024 Teaching and Learning Conference on July 23 and 24.  Presented by the SCCPSS Curriculum and Instruction Department, this exciting 2-day event will bring teachers together to engage in hands-on sessions and receive teaching and learning resources.

Among the keynote speakers are Cer Princeton Harden from the Ron Clark Academy; Natalie Wexler, a nationally recognized journalist and author promoting literacy; Dorina Sackman-Ebuwa, the 2014 Florida Teacher of the Year and Top-4 Finalist for National Teacher of the Year; and Dr. Bernadette Lambert, a nationally recognized speaker on culture and climate.

“We are thrilled to welcome our teachers back to the new school year with these enriching and empowering workshops, “said Andrea Burkiett, Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.  “We are committed to providing our educators with the resources they need to make our children successful.”

Superintendent Dr. Denise Watts and Deputy Superintendent Staci Taylor will open the sessions each day.
