Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Tuesday, July 30th, 2024

A delicious partnership between CURE Childhood Cancer and Georgia’s renowned Pearson Farm yielded sweet results during the second annual Peach Week, raising over $11,600 to conquer childhood cancer.

This four-day fundraising initiative saw ten of Savannah's most esteemed restaurants showcase their culinary creativity using Pearson Farm's fresh peaches. Each restaurant crafted a unique peach-inspired signature dish, with a portion of proceeds directly benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer's mission to conquer childhood cancer.

Brochu’s Family Tradition emerged victorious, taking home the title of "Winning Peach Dish" for their crowd-pleasing Peach Cobbler Pie, as voted by Peach Week diners. A celebratory check presentation ceremony will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, July 18, at 11:00 am on the restaurant's patio (2400 Bull Street – Suite #8).

Beyond the restaurant creations, CURE Childhood Cancer also saw significant success selling peaches directly, raising an impressive $6,703.23 with Pearson Farm donating 100% of proceeds. When combined with restaurant contributions in both Savannah and Atlanta, the grand total for 2024 Peach Week reached a delicious $11,638.02.

“We are incredibly grateful to every donor who participated in Peach Week,” said Mandy Garola, Vice President of South Georgia for CURE Childhood Cancer. “The funds raised will have a significant impact on our fight against childhood cancer.”

While the 2nd Annual Peach Week was a resounding success, the fight against childhood cancer continues. CURE Childhood Cancer encourages the community to stand with them year-round through continued donations and support.
