Telfair Museums celebrates the Summer with its newest exhibition, Lingua Flora. Drawing from Telfair Museums’ permanent collection, this exhibition delves into the rich portrayal of flowers in fine and decorative arts from the late 18th through the early 20th centuries. Savannahians and visitors are invited to experience the exhibition through September 8.

Lingua Flora showcases a diverse array of artworks including ceramics, silver, textiles, and works on paper, many of which will be on public display for the first time at the Jepson Center. Through meticulous curation and scholarly research, the exhibition provides a fresh perspective on how artists from different cultures and time periods interpreted and celebrated the natural world.

Visitors to the exhibition can expect to encounter stunning floral compositions that reflect the era's aesthetic sensibilities and cultural exchanges. The artworks not only serve as visual delights but also reveal the deeper layers of meaning embedded within floral symbolism and representation.

As a warm welcome, Telfair partnered with August Design, a renowned floral design firm known for their intricate installations for weddings and events, to activate the facade of the Jepson Center. Visitors will also receive a limited-edition Lingua Flora-themed wildflower seed packet while supplies last.
