Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School received the designation as a Model School and was chosen to present at the distinguished 2024 Model Schools Conference held last month in Orlando, Florida. Hosted by the Center for Model Schools, this annual gathering celebrates excellence and innovation in education, spotlighting exemplary practices that serve to inspire and empower educators worldwide.

Chosen from a distinguished array of institutions, Woodville Tompkins has showcased exceptional dedication to fostering student success, championing equity and inclusion, and implementing innovative strategies to address the diverse needs of its learners. Through collaborative initiatives, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement, Woodville Tompkins has become a shining example of excellence in the realm of education.

Woodville-Tompkins Principal Alfred McGuire, Assistant Principal Christine Holmes and Language Teacher Bertha Delgadillo gave a presentation titled "Creating A Strategic Pathway For Success: The Strategic Plan" at MSC 2024, engaging with over 5,000+ educators.  The presentation communicated that success does not happen overnight. It takes work to build a culture that allows for success and continuous improvement. The session guided attendees through this process in secondary schools, including practical strategies for implementing a strategic plan that promotes steady success and nurtures a robust school culture. It detailed how intentional efforts lead to increased student engagement, attendance, and ongoing excellence. Woodville Tompkins shared their roadmap for building, monitoring, and sharing a strategic plan.
