The Davenport House Museum, a property owned and operated by Historic Savannah Foundation, is pleased to announce the expansion of its popular Yoga in the Garden series. Beginning on Saturday, September 14, Yoga in the Garden will transition from monthly to weekly classes, with yoga classes offered on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. in the Davenport House Museum’s beautiful walled gardens at 323 E. Broughton St.

Davenport House Museum docent and experienced yoga instructor Michael Plasha will continue to lead the classes and help participants breathe, stretch and find Zen in one of Savannah’s most historic gardens. Suitable for beginners or advanced practitioners of yoga, these one-hour classes are designed to meet a variety of needs and abilities.

“Yoga in the Garden gives locals and visitors a way to continuously engage with the beauty and history of the Davenport House,” said Danielle Hodes, Executive Director of the Davenport House Museum. “Due to popular demand, we’re delighted to offer Yoga in the Garden weekly and to provide additional opportunities to enjoy a gentle yoga class in our tranquil urban garden.”

In the event of inclement weather, yoga classes will be held indoors at the Murray C. Perlman & Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center, which is located directly behind the Davenport House Museum.

The Davenport House Museum’s Yoga in the Garden classes are open to the public. Reservations are recommended, as space is limited. Attendance is $5 for Historic Savannah Foundation members and Davenport House Museum docents and $10 for non-members. Members and non-members may secure their space by calling 912-236-8097.
