Loop It Up to Host Inaugural Golf Tournament Fundraiser

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, September 16th, 2024

A local nonprofit is asking supporters and golf-lovers to “swing into action” with its first-ever golf tournament fundraiser.

Loop It Up Savannah will be hosting the Loop It Up Cup Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Savannah Country Club on Wilmington Island. Registration closes Wednesday, Sept. 25.

“Team Loop It Up is excited to engage the community as we swing into action with our first-ever golf tournament,” said Loop It Up founder and Executive Director Molly Lieberman. “The funds we raise through this inaugural event will support Loop It Up’s arts-integrated literacy, mindfulness and school garden programming, which will serve the majority of the Savannah Chatham County Public School System throughout the 2024-25 school year. We are grateful for the support of the business community that we have received so far, and we can’t wait to see everyone out on the green.”

The format for the day will be a four-person scramble with opportunities to buy mulligans. Each entry includes green and cart fees, a light breakfast, lunch, beer and seltzers, as well as a gift bag and the chance to win prizes.

“We plan to make our golfers’ time on the course extra fun with an assortment of contests and special events, with prizes like rounds of golf at several local courses. Participants will be able to enjoy a light breakfast, lunch, beverages and fantastic silent auction items.” Lieberman said. “This tournament promises not just a fun day of golf, but also an opportunity to support our mission to bring creativity, connection and education to youth and families in our community.”

Players can enter the tournament as an individual or a team, and there are several business sponsorship levels available, as well.

“The Loop It Up Cup Golf Tournament will be such a wonderful gathering of business leaders, educators and nonprofits in Savannah. Creating an environment of people who care and love our community only yields positive results – why not do it on a golf course?” said Kate Jackson, who serves on the Loop It Up Board of Directors.

“Loop It Up is directly working with students in the Savannah Chatham County Public School System, bringing in creative curricula through art. Businesses in Savannah should be excited and eager to play a round of golf and support an organization that is directly benefiting the children in the community,” Jackson said. “ And if you can’t play, you can show your support by purchasing a tee marker sponsorship or donating auction items.”

Loop It Up Savannah is a youth arts and enrichment organization that brings creative educational programming to more than 10,000 children across Chatham County and beyond each year through partnerships with public schools, community centers, museums and other nonprofits.
