Mary’s Place Hispanic Networking Group To Host Second Annual Resource Fair

Mary’s Place Hispanic Networking Group will be hosting its Second Annual Resource Fair on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes, 501 S Coastal Hwy, Port Wentworth, GA. Rooted in empowering and supporting the Hispanic community, this family friendly event will provide fun for all ages and information about social services from community-based organizations. 

Friends and family are invited to spend the afternoon fostering connection while enjoying giveaways, live music, and delicious food. There will also be activities for children to enjoy.

“We are honored to host this fair for the second year,” said Doris L Williams, Executive Director of Mary’s Place Sexual Assault Center. “Our hope is to uplift the Hispanic community, so people not only have access to social services but feel empowered to use them.”

Mary’s Place Hispanic Networking Group aims to provide advocacy, resources, and services while uniting the community leaders in nonprofit organizations and businesses to assist the Hispanic community. The group includes social services providers and small businesses from the Coastal Empire including Coastal Children Advocacy Center, Forsyth Farmer’s Market, Heart Properties, MedBank, Good Samaritan, SAFE Shelter and GROW Initiative. Mary’s Place is committed to supporting this community and always offers survivors of sexual assault support from Spanish speaking professionals. The resource fair’s aim is for individuals, families, and groups to strengthen and grow through education, connections, referrals, and other assistance. 

Based in Savannah and serving seven counties in the Coastal Empire, Mary’s Place provides a wide range of services including a 24/7 crisis line, hospital accompaniment, support groups, prevention awareness, educational outreach, and more. The nonprofit understands that not only women face sexual violence, but all communities regardless of sex or gender identity. Through education and prevention awareness. Mary’s Place hopes to reduce stigma around asking for help, and ultimately reduce the number of survivors.
