Chatham County Candidate Forum Scheduled For Oct. 16

The Chatham County community is invited to attend a candidate forum hosted by Georgia Southern University and WSAV on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Ogeechee Theatre, located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union on the Armstrong Campus, and will be moderated by Tina Tyus-Shaw and Ben Senger. The event will also be live streamed on WSAV.com.

This forum will feature key candidates for upcoming local elections, providing residents with an opportunity to hear directly from those vying for office. The participating candidates include:

  • Chatham County Commission District 6: Aaron “Adot” Whitely and Leonard Massey

  • Chatham County Commission District 7: Dean Kicklighter and Orlando Scott

  • Chatham County Commission Chair: Chester Ellis*

  • Chatham County District Attorney Candidate: Andre Pretorius*
