Chatham Emergency Services (CES) proudly announces its recognition by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI), the leading software developer of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). ESRI honored Chatham Emergency Services with a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award for the creation of its custom-built, local Hospital Status Dashboard.

This prestigious award highlights CES' dedication to technological excellence and innovation in emergency medical services. Out of 680,000 organizations worldwide utilizing ESRI’s software, only 210 were selected to receive a SAG award this year. CES was one of just two recipients in the United States under the EMS/Fire category, underscoring its commitment to leveraging advanced technology to enhance public safety and patient care.

The CES Hospital Status Dashboard is a groundbreaking tool that has revolutionized how CES interacts with local hospital providers. It allows real-time tracking of Emergency Room (ER) diversions, ensuring that patients are transported to the most appropriate and available hospital facilities. This innovative system is accessible to the public via CES’ website at hospitals.chathames.org.

During the ESRI User Conference, CES’ Chief Technology Officer, Luke Culleny, had the honor of presenting the Hospital Status Dashboard to over 500 hundred attendees at the Safety and Security Summit. His presentation detailed the development, implementation, and operational use of the dashboard in Chatham County. CTO Culleny emphasized how the dashboard has modernized CES’ coordination with local hospitals, significantly improving patient care and resource management.
