Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club officials and the Evan and Ariel Harmeling Foundation announced today a new tournament event to determine the three recipients of the 2025 Junior Golf Legacy Scholarship.

The Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club established the Junior Golf Legacy Scholarship in 2024 as a new charitable initiative in partnership with the Evan and Ariel Harmeling Foundation. Through this scholarship, the tournament sponsors professional golf instruction for three kids in the greater Savannah area with a PGA professional at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.

Beginning this fall, the recipients of the scholarship will be determined through an official tournament competition. The first playing of the Club Car Championship Junior Golf Scholarship Tournament will take place December 8, 2024, at the Deer Creek Course, home of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.

Registration for the inaugural event is now open online at https://events.trustevent.com/templates/index.cfm?fuseaction=templates.home&eid=4943. Participants must be 13 years of age or younger to play in the tournament.

The three winners of the 2025 Junior Golf Legacy Scholarship will receive six months of instruction from a Top-100 Golf Digest coach, at the Golf Performance Center at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.

Evan Harmeling, the 2020 Club Car Championship winner, launched the Evan and Ariel Harmeling Foundation alongside his wife in fall of 2023 and is paying homage to his first Korn Ferry Tour win by partnering with the Savannah Legacy Academy. Harmeling learned about the Savannah Legacy Academy through Savannah native Tim O’Neal, his playing partner for the first two rounds of his 2020 victory at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.

“The inaugural Junior Golf Legacy Tournament is an incredible opportunity for local golfers to test their game at a Korn Ferry Tour golf course and identify our scholarship recipients for the coming year,” said Harmeling. “I am thrilled that the Foundation is able to continue to provide students in the greater Savannah area access to top-notch golf coaching to help them elevate their game to the next level.”
