The impact of Hurricane Helene is bigger than property and power outages; the storm took the lives of many and threatened the lives of others.
Romie Cummings and Tanika Lamar, owners of Tanika and the Chef catering, were piled up in the bed with their two youngest children and their three dogs when a massive pine tree came down, crushing their roof. Sadly their oldest dog, Dia, died.
