The Small Business Assistance Corporation (SBAC) held its volunteer orientation in the meeting space of Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. The orientation introduced new Board of Directors and Loan Committee members to SBAC's mission, company overview, and strategic goals. It also offered networking opportunities with current volunteer members and SBAC’s staff. Each member brings business and financial expertise along with a strong commitment to the community to help support SBAC.

New voting Board Members include:

• Emily Kutcher, Fifth Third Bank

• Dan Pavlin, Bernard Williams & Co, LLC

New Loan Committee Members include:
• Matt Ambrosy, Great Oaks Bank

• Ty Guyton, First Citizens Bank

• Sarah Martin, Bank OZK

• Rachel White, Truist

These new members are poised to play a crucial role in SBAC’s governance and credit decision- making. The SBAC’s Board is responsible for overseeing the organization’s governance and strategic direction, while the Loan Committee reviews and approves loan applications, ensuring sound financial decisions that promote local economic development.

After the orientation, attendees went on a trolley tour of over 50 local businesses in downtown Savannah that received funding from SBAC. The tour showcased the significant impact of SBAC's support in funding these small businesses, demonstrating how the organization has been essential to the region's economic growth and development.
