Thursday, November 7th, 2024
The Front Porch, Where Youth and Families Gather, is inviting the community to a Fall Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The event will be held at 2203 Abercorn St. in Savannah. The purpose of the open house is to provide community members, civic leaders, and partner agencies the opportunity to explore the updated facility, meet the team, and learn more about the impact The Front Porch is making on families throughout Chatham County.
The Front Porch is a community-based risk reduction program established in 2018 per the Chatham County Blueprint by 11 local agencies including Chatham County Juvenile Court, Chatham County, City of Savannah, District Attorney of Chatham County, Savannah Chatham County Public School System, Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council, State of Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, Gateway Community Service Board, Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition, St. Joseph’s/Candler, and The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire, Inc.
The same agencies provide continued oversight and guidance for the Front Porch operation and its long-term strategies under the Blueprint’s strategy for Chatham County which focuses on the four key areas of economy, education, health, and quality of life.
“The Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition, which leads the development of the Chatham County Blueprint, is very proud to be a partner agency and we’re excited to help open the doors of this program to the public and share the positive changes the Front Porch is making,” said Lizann Roberts, executive director. “This open house is an opportunity for everyone in the community to see firsthand the fruits of the multi-agency work which is shaping a brighter future for youth and families in Chatham County.”
This open house will offer a guided tour of the space, showcase recent improvements, and provide valuable insight into how The Front Porch collaborates with community organizations to address critical issues affecting local families. Attendees are invited to enjoy light refreshments, engage in conversations, and strengthen connections that benefit the community.
