Parker’s Kitchen — an award-winning convenience store and food service company — will launch a new round-up campaign on Friday, Nov. 1 to fight hunger in communities across Georgia and South Carolina. Parker’s Kitchen will match 25% of all customer donations to amplify the impact of the round-up campaign, which will run through Friday, Feb. 28.
“At Parker’s Kitchen, we want to expand the regional food safety net to help local families and children who are experiencing food insecurity throughout Georgia and South Carolina,” said Olivia Parker, Parker’s Kitchen Outreach and Communications Manager. “We’re incredibly grateful for the generous support of our customers and look forward to taking a major bite out of hunger through our new round-up campaign.
Previous Parker’s Kitchen round-up campaigns have raised $414,000 to help reduce hunger in communities across Georgia and South Carolina.
For the current campaign, customer round-up donations at Parker’s Kitchen stores in Aiken, S.C. and Augusta, Ga. will benefit Golden Harvest Food Bank, a nonprofit offering programs and direct services to meet the needs of neighbors who struggle with hunger across a 24-county service area. Round-up donations at Parker’s Kitchen locations at all other cities and towns in South Carolina will benefit Lowcountry Food Bank, a nonprofit organization based in Charleston, S.C. that provides food to more than 200,000 individuals in need across 10 counties every year.
In Georgia, round-up donations at Parker’s Kitchen locations in all communities except Augusta will support Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, a Savannah, Ga.-based nonprofit organization that provides emergency food assistance and distributes 23 million pounds of food annually to individuals who are at risk for hunger across a 21-county area.
Parker’s Kitchen round-up campaigns have donated than $1 million to a wide range of community-based causes, including supporting injured local veterans across Georgia and South Carolina through Wounded Warrior Project®; expanding healthcare access for underinsured and uninsured residents at Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, S.C.; and providing emergency shelter, food and wraparound services for women experiencing homelessness at Parker’s House in Savannah, Ga.
