Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, November 22nd, 2024

SAFE Shelter is excited to continue their partnership with the Thompson Savannah for their highly anticipated Savannah Night Market on Friday, December 1st, from 2-7 PM at the Eastern Wharf. This vibrant holiday market will feature an array of activities, local artisans, and community spirit, with gifts from the toy drive directly supporting SAFE Shelter's dedication to bringing joy to victims of domestic violence this holiday season.

The Savannah Night Market is more than just shopping—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in Savannah's creative community while enjoying a festive atmosphere filled with live music by local artist Rachael Shaner, free photos with Santa, free face painting, and delicious seasonal drinks at Frosty’s rooftop pop-up at Bar Julian.

SAFE Shelter invites attendees to bring a new, unwrapped children’s toy or gift for the SAFE Shelter Toy Drive & Raffle. Each donation grants an entry into a raffle to win a one-night stay at the luxurious Thompson Savannah. (One entry per person.) This toy drive will help brighten the holiday season for children impacted by domestic violence.

Event Highlights:

  • Shop Local: Browse handmade crafts, jewelry, art, and more from 25+ local artisans and makers.

  • Toy Drive & Raffle: Bring a new, unwrapped toy to support SAFE Shelter and enter to win a Thompson Savannah stay.

  • Holiday Cheer: Free Santa photos (4-7 PM), live music by Rachael Shaner (5-7 PM), and complimentary face painting.

  • Festive Fare: End the day at Frosty’s rooftop pop-up at Bar Julian with holiday drinks and cozy igloos.
