Senior Citizens Inc. (SCI), the experts in aging for older adults since 1959, is proud to announce the opening of the DayBreak Center, a new respite care center on Skidaway Island. Daybreak Center is designed to offer a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for older adults that may have some physical or cognitive impairments that require assistance and supervision but can still maintain some level of independence.
DayBreak is the latest addition to SCI’s continuum of care which includes Neighborhood Centers for active seniors and Adult Day Health Centers for those needing more comprehensive care. The new center provides essential daytime care and supervision, offering families peace of mind while giving participants the opportunity to connect, engage, and thrive.
“We are excited to expand our services with the opening of DayBreak,” said Patti Lyons, President of Senior Citizens Inc. “We believe in enhancing the quality of life for older adults in our community and DayBreak is designed to do just that. Our Center will offer participants not only a safe and nurturing space but also meaningful opportunities to engage their minds, move their bodies, and foster a sense of purpose.”
A Holistic Approach to Successful Aging
At DayBreak, the approach to care is centered around the four key pillars of successful aging: Active Mind, Active Body, Sense of Purpose, and Community. Our research-backed program includes cognitive exercises, physical activities, creative arts, and social engagement designed to enrich the lives of the participants. DayBreak aims to help older adults maintain their independence, find joy in each day, and stay connected to their community while providing caregivers the opportunity to rest and recharge.
“The opening of DayBreak on Skidaway Island marks a significant step in SCI’s mission to support successful aging and ensure older adults in the region receive the care and connection they need” said Lyons, “Families can rely on DayBreak to provide professional supervision, structured activities, and a compassionate environment where their loved ones are valued and supported”.
