WSAV-TV’s Syed Hussain recognized as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s 40 Under 40 for 2024.

Syed Hussain, Director of Sales for WSAV-TV News 3, has been named one of Georgia
Trend’s 40 Under 40 for 2024. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant
contributions to their communities and industries.
Hussain has served as Director of Sales for WSAV since April of 2022, a station owned by Nexstar Media
Group, the largest owner of local television stations in the United States. Prior to leading WSAV’s sales
team, Hussain was a Local Sales Manager at WCBD-TV, the Nexstar-owned NBC affiliate in Charleston, SC.
"I am incredibly grateful for the nominations that led to this recognition,” said Hussain. “It’s truly an
honor to be included among such a distinguished group of young leaders across Georgia. I want to thank
my incredible mentors who have guided me throughout my career, the supportive friends and colleagues
who make every day a pleasure, and of course, my wonderful wife & kids for their unwavering support.

Hussain attributes his success to a deep commitment to serving the community. He instills this value in
his sales teams, ensuring they prioritize the best interests of local clients who are the backbone of the
local economy. Syed believes that the success of these businesses is vital to the health of the entire
community, and his teams strive to super-serve their local clients & be the best partners & good
stewards of their marketing investments.

Beyond his work at WSAV, Syed is passionate about giving back, particularly to veterans. As a combat
veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he understands the challenges veterans face when
transitioning into the corporate world. "Thanks to the GI Bill, we are putting out an incredible number of
college-educated veterans and while many veteran services help the ones most in need, very few help
those looking to transition into the corporate world.” Hussain said. “I have made it my focus to leverage
my positions, access, & resources to help my fellow veterans navigate that space.
" His dedication
extends to his role as chairman of Nexstar's Veteran Employee Resource Group, his involvement with the
PGA's Veteran initiative called PGA HOPE, and his previous service on the board of directors for the FL
Association of Veteran Business. When not working, Syed enjoys spending time with his wife and two
young children, boating the beautiful waterways of the Coastal Empire and South Carolina Lowcountry.
According to Georgia Trend, the magazine “recognizes 40 of the most successful and civic-minded people
in the state under the age of 40. These young leaders are your neighbors who might work or volunteer in
your community. They live in various regions of the state, from Staham to Savannah, Arabi to Augusta,Macon to Metro Atlanta.” The group includes educators, business and nonprofit staff members and
leaders, along with entrepreneurs, executive directors and medical professionals. According to Georgia
Trend, the magazine selects the annual group from hundreds of nominations submitted statewide by the
nominees supervisors, co-workers, neighbors and loved ones.
