Tuesday, December 17th, 2024
Savannah Classical Academy (SCA) has been awarded by US NEWS and World Report the designation of “Best” Public Elementary and Public Middle schools and “Best” Elementary and Middle Charter Schools, for 2025.
This state wide assessment also ranked SCA as #3 in both the district’s elementary schools and middle schools. Compared to other charter schools across the state of Georgia, SCA’s Elementary School achieved a ranking #10 of 74 and its Middle School #22 of 66. Badge eligibility recognizes educational excellence and all data for the rankings was sourced from third-party sources, including the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. News published numerical rankings for more than 37,000 public elementary schools and more than 18,000 public middle schools. For each state, schools were assessed on their pupils’ proficiencies in mathematics and reading, as measured by state assessment tests. SCA achieved significantly higher scores than the district schools in both reading and math proficiency levels.
For all public schools (traditional and charter) in Georgia, Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is ranked #270 of 1,923 in Georgia Elementary Schools and #218 of 1095 in Georgia Middle Schools. Savannah Classical Academy's high ranking once again earned the K-12 charter school eligibility to display the U.S. News Best award badges. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school. This is the second consecutive year SCA has been awarded these designations.
Commenting on this prestigious recognition, SCA CEO Mr. Barry Lollis said, “It is great to once again be recognized by the US NEWS and World report. These accolades demonstrate the effectiveness of our school, the competence of our teaching staff and most importantly, the high-quality education students are earning they matriculate through SCA.
