Ridgeland-based COMDOC, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the Georgia and South Carolina business assets of Automated Business Solutions, Inc. Financial terms of this transaction were not disclosed. Automated Business Solutions was formerly known as Expert Laser Services.

“This acquisition will bolster our Lowcountry and Coastal Empire market share and will make us our area’s largest privately-owned, independent business technology provider. This will also strengthen our technical support ability as well as broaden our product and service offerings.” said Mike Strum, president of COMDOC. The acquisition of Automated Business Solutions adds approximately 1,000 office copier, MFP and printer customers and $1.0 million in annual sales to the operations of COMDOC. In addition to MPS and MSP services COMDOC currently offers, Automated Business Solutions brings a significant expertise with innovative and unique Managed Print Services (MPS) programs. All Automated Business Solutions employees have been invited to stay with COMDOC. Strum continued, “I see this as a wonderful opportunity to grow a local office technology solutions company that is truly customer-driven in both words and deeds as opposed to publicly traded document imaging technology providers and others camouflaging being local serving our market through branches". “This acquisition expands our document-products offering with products from Canon, HP and others.”

The Automated Business Solutions asset purchase represents COMDOC’s seventeenth acquisition. COMDOC was founded in Savannah and Hilton Head in 1979; and in its third generation of private and family ownership is celebrating its 45th year in business. Automated Business Solutions clients will be integrated with COMDOC’s existing operations and all employees will operate from Automated Business Solutions’ existing Ridgeland facility at 3047 Argent Boulevard, Suite #7 Ridgeland SC 29936. The offices are at the center point where Hardeeville, Bluffton, Ridgeland and Okatie meet and minutes away from Savannah Georgia.
