Tournament officials announced today that Savannah native Hughes Threlkeld will receive an exemption to compete in the eighth playing of the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club.

The 2025 edition of Savannah’s official Korn Ferry Tour event is March 31 – April 6 at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s acclaimed Deer Creek Course.

“We are excited to welcome Hughes Threlkeld into the field for this year’s Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club,” said Brit Donahue, tournament director. “Uplifting the Savannah community is an important mission of the tournament, and we are thrilled for Hughes to be making his Korn Ferry Tour debut in his hometown.”

Threlkeld is currently in his senior season at University of North Georgia on the No. 2 ranked NCAA Division II men’s golf team and is a 2024 GCAA all-American honorable mention. Threlkeld graduated from Savannah’s Benedictine Military School in 2021.

“I am incredibly grateful to both Club Car and the Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club for affording me this opportunity,” said Hughes Threlkeld. “To have my first Korn Ferry Tour start be in my hometown of Savannah is a dream come true. I’m excited to represent this community and can’t wait to tee it up at the Deer Creek Course.”
