City of Hinesville Fire Department Announces "Moe" McDuffie 4th Annual Scholarship

The Hinesville Fire Department will award $1,000 through its Earnest “Moe” McDuffie 4th Annual Essay Scholarship. This year’s topic is African American Contributions in Fire Service. The scholarship is open to Bradwell Institute, Liberty County High, and First Preparatory High School Seniors with the deadline being Friday, March 14, 2025. Submissions can be made in person during normal business hours Monday through Friday at the Hinesville Fire Department Administration Building, located at 304 S. Commerce Street, or via e-mail to [email protected].

• Minimum of 1,000 words

• APA Formatting

• Double-spaced

• Proper Citations

We understand the future of our city is in the hands of our youth; we will do all we can to empower our youth by supporting education,” said Robert W. Kitchings Jr., Fire Chief.

Funds for the “Moe” McDuffie Annual Scholarship are raised through fundraising activities such as City of Hinesville interdepartmental donations, the Moe McDuffie Scholarship 5K Run/Walk, and community donations.
