Hinesville Reports a 3.9% Unemployment Rate for January 2025

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that Hinesville recorded an unemployment rate of 3.9 percent in January, an increase of three-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month. A year ago, the rate was 3.8 percent.

Even with the rise in unemployment, our mission remains clear—helping Georgia’s workers find and keep meaningful employment in every corner of our state.”
The labor force in Hinesville increased by 126, ending the month with 31,111 workers. This number represents an increase of 160 compared to January 2024.
Hinesville finished the month with 29,888 employed residents. This number increased by 5 from the previous month and rose by 108 compared to the same time last year.
The number of jobs in Hinesville stood at 21,800 in January. This marked a decrease of 400 jobs from December to January, but an increase of 200 jobs when compared to the same time last year.
In January, initial unemployment claims increased by 14 in Hinesville. When comparing January 2024 claims to January 2025, claims were down by 18.
