Local Stars Recognized at State Adult Education Competition in Atlanta

At the prestigious Annual Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) and Adult Education Teacher of the Year competition in Atlanta, Savannah Technical College (Savannah Tech), the premier provider of career-ready technical education and workforce development in Coastal Georgia, proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of Kameron Vincent, 2025 Adult Education Instructor of the Year, and Jovena Michel, 2025 EAGLE Award winner.
This statewide event highlights the critical role of adult education programs in fostering workforce development and lifelong learning, core missions of Savannah Tech.

Kameron Vincent: Championing ESL Education at Savannah Technical College
Kameron Vincent has excelled in her role as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor. Her innovative teaching methods, focusing on immersive learning experiences, have significantly impacted her students' linguistic proficiency and critical thinking skills.
Her teaching incorporates modern methodologies, including Suggestopedia, Content-Based Instruction, Task-Based Learning, and Project-Based Learning, creating a dynamic learning environment within Savannah Tech. Her commitment to Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs further demonstrates her dedication to workforce development in the Chatham, Bryan, Effingham and Liberty counties currently served by Savannah Tech.
Jovena Michel: Achieving GED Success at Savannah Technical College
Jovena Anne Velose Michel exemplifies the transformative power of adult education. Originally from Haiti, Michel achieved her GED® in under six months, driven by her ambition to pursue a nursing career.
"Jovena’s story exemplifies the resilience and ambition we strive to nurture in all of our students at Savannah Technical College," said Dr. Foley. "She is a shining example of how education can transform lives and open doors to limitless opportunities."
Michel's journey, overcoming the challenges of obtaining her high school transcripts from Haiti, highlights her commitment to her goals. Her pursuit of an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) at Savannah Tech underscores her dedication to serving the Savannah community.
