In celebration of 65 years of providing nutritious meals to older adults in coastal Georgia, Senior Citizens Inc. (SCI) is partnering with local celebrity chefs to bring their signature flavors to its Meals on Wheels program. Kicking off this initiative, Executive Chef Jason Cummings of River Street Restaurant Group has crafted a special version of his renowned corned beef and cabbage recipe for Wexford – Savannah’s Irish Pub, which will be served to Meals on Wheels clients this St. Patrick’s Day.

“For 65 years, Senior Citizens Inc. has been delivering meals to older adults in our community. For us, these meals have always been more than just food; they are a lifeline, providing nutrition, companionship, and support to those who need it most,” said Patti Lyons, President of Senior Citizens Inc. “We are thrilled to mark this milestone by partnering with some of the best chefs in the region, giving our clients a taste of restaurant-quality meals in their own homes.”

“I’ve always believed that food has the power to bring people together,” said Chef Cummings. “I’m honored to share one of my favorite dishes with Meals on Wheels clients, especially as we celebrate SCI’s long history of serving our community. I hope this meal brings joy and the feeling of a true Irish celebration to those who receive it.”

This signature meal from Wexford Irish Pub is the first in a series of special chef collaborations planned throughout the year as part of SCI’s 65th-anniversary celebrations. These partnerships will continue to showcase the high-quality, flavorful meals served through Meals on Wheels while supporting SCI’s ongoing mission of helping older adults age successfully.
