Friday, April 11th, 2025
In affiliation with the 2025 Club Car Championship at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, Emily McCarthy and the PGA TOUR Wives Association recently hosted a luncheon for the local non-profit organization Tharros Place.
Tharros Place provides support and shelter for survivors of human trafficking by providing residential services for girls between the ages of 12-17. The organization’s mission is to cultivate a culture of courage for adolescent survivors of human trafficking through compassionate and safe residential care, empowered and respected staff, and collaborative community outreach.
“Our team is committed to bringing confidence and joy to all women in our community,” said CEO and Creative Director Emily McCarthy. “Knowing that our designs and this event could play even a small part in positively impacting these beautiful young ladies’ lives is a further reiteration of our brand’s mission and vision.”
In addition to providing a styling session and Emily McCarthy designed clothing for each of the girls and wives, the group enjoyed an interactive lunch during the week of the Club Car Championship tournament. At the end of the event, the PGA TOUR Wives Association presented Tharros Place with a $5000 check.
Tharros Place Executive Director Julie Wade notes, "Having experiences like this is not only fun for our girls but also helps them rebuild trust and confidence. We are grateful to Emily McCarthy and the PGA TOUR Wives Association for helping us transform these girls from victims to young women brimming with confidence, self-respect, and courage."
