The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire – Savannah, Ga.’s leading organization dedicated to helping citizens proactively manage conflict and creating a more conflict-resilient community – is honored to partner with Loop It Up Savannah to host The Power of Peace: An Artistic Tribute Exhibition in honor of National Youth Violence Prevention Week. This special Youth Art Gallery Showcase featuring original art by local students will take place on Friday, May 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at The Mediation Center’s office at 5105 Paulsen St. #125D in Savannah, Ga. This event is free and open to the public and will feature light refreshments. 

The Power of Peace showcases original art by local elementary, middle school and high school students from across Chatham County. Visitors are invited to experience the art and hear the voices of young people imagining a better, more peaceful world. Each poster represents a powerful, personal vision of peace. 

“Every student who contributed a poster to this art exhibition is a beacon of change,” said Sherlisa Praylo, Director of Youth Initiatives at The Mediation Center of the Coastal Empire. “Their artwork serves as a powerful reminder that peace isn’t something we simply wait for. It’s a vibrant force we actively create together. In partnership with Loop It Up Savannah, this exhibit gives our community a chance to pause, to listen and to see the power of youth in action.”

The Power of Peace exhibition underscores the fact that student artists are creative, courageous changemakers using art to reflect, inspire and lead. Youth across America are taking a stand against violence during National Youth Violence Prevention Week, which runs from April 28 through May 2, 2025.
