Savannah Sees Job Growth in February, Unemployment Rate at 3.3%

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that Savannah recorded an unemployment rate of 3.3 percent in February, up three-tenths of a percent over-the-month. A year ago, the rate was 3.0 percent.

“Jobs are growing, and so is Georgia’s future," said GDOL Interim Successor Louis DeBroux. "With regional job growth across Georgia in February and the state's unemployment rate holding steady at 3.6%—well below the national average—Georgia continues to prove itself as the #1 place where businesses and talent thrive."

The labor force decreased in Savannah by 975 over-the-month and ended February with 207,893. That number decreased by 2,282 when compared to February of 2024.

Savannah finished the month with 201,099 employed residents. That number decreased by 1,596 over-the-month and was down by 2,740 when compared to the same time last year.

Savannah ended February with 206,000 jobs, Jobs increased by 100 over-the-month and rose by 300 when compared to this time last year.

In February, initial unemployment claims decreased by 141 over-the-month and were down by 94 compared to the same month last year, totaling 531.
