Savannah’s Candy Kitchen to Present Check to P.A.C.K. Savannah Following Successful Founder’s Day Benefiting Local Children
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025
Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, the iconic Southern candy store that made Georgia pralines a worldwide favorite, will present a check to People of Action Caring for Kids (P.A.C.K.) Savannah. This donation is a result of the successful inaugural Founder’s Day celebration honoring the memory of founder Stan “The Candy Man” Strickland, and raised funds to support P.A.C.K's weekend meal program for food-insecure children in Chatham County.
During the Founder’s Day event, ten percent of all praline sales, in stores and online, were dedicated to supporting P.A.C.K. Savannah. The community’s enthusiastic participation resulted in a significant contribution that will directly impact local children in need.
Rhett Strickland, co-owner of Savannah's Candy Kitchen, along with his mother, Tonya Strickland, will present a check for a significant donation to Malena Stone, founder and CEO of P.A.C.K. Savannah. The presentation will take place at P.A.C.K's facility, located at 4 Mall Terrace, Savannah, GA 31406, on Tuesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. This event celebrates the legacy of Stan Strickland's community spirit and the generosity of Savannah’s Candy Kitchen customers.
"We were deeply touched by the overwhelming support for our inaugural Founder's Day," said Rhett Strickland. "Presenting this check to P.A.C.K. Savannah is a meaningful way to honor my father's commitment to the community and directly support the vital work they do for local children."
Malena Stone expressed her gratitude, stating, "The success of Savannah's Candy Kitchen's Founder's Day and this generous donation will make a tangible difference in the lives of the children we serve. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and the community's support in remembering Stan Strickland's legacy through this impactful contribution."
Savannah’s Candy Kitchen remains committed to its Southern traditions, handcrafted confections, and the spirit of giving back that was so important to its founder. The check presentation marks the culmination of a successful initiative that honored Stan Strickland while making a positive impact on the local community.
