Coastal Heritage Society Offers 25 Free Field Trips In Honor Of America 250
Friday, July 25th, 2025
To commemorate America 250, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Coastal Heritage Society (CHS) is thrilled to announce a special raffle for 25 free field trips. This initiative offers local educators a unique opportunity to bring history to life for their students at Savannah History Museum—completely free of charge.
CHS will award 25 classes a free, one-hour educational field trip to one of its engaging Revolutionary War-themed programs, designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for our nation’s founding. The raffle is open to public, private, and homeschool classes from Chatham, Bryan, Bulloch, Effingham, Liberty (GA), and Beaufort and Jasper (SC) counties.
“Through this raffle, we will make Revolutionary War history more accessible and memorable for local students as we approach this monumental milestone in our country’s story,” said Nora Lee, CEO of Coastal Heritage Society. “This program is part of CHS’s ongoing mission to preserve the stories of our past and inspire the next generation through hands-on, interactive learning.”
Educational programs eligible for the raffle include:
- Siege of Savannah
- Student Program
- Savannah in the Revolution Pilot Program
Educators may apply to win now until August 29, 2025. Winners will be selected and notified in early September 2025.
