Walmart today announces the completion of a remodel of one of its locations in Savannah, Georgia. Located at 14030 Abercorn St., the 117,804-square-foot Supercenter underwent a 16-week transformation that added significant updates and enhancements. Walmart held a re-grand opening ceremony on Friday, July 11, to celebrate the launch of the remodeled store.

This remodel has brought a variety of enhancements to Store #4556, which will provide customers with a better shopping experience. Highlights include a refreshed apparel department relocated to the front of the store, lower-profile racks and white fixtures. 

A staple of newly renovated Walmart locations, the store now features a custom mural by Trudy Tran, a Georgia-based multidisciplinary artist. The mural celebrates Savannah as Georgia's oldest city, honoring its history, architecture and culture. It features Hunter Army Airfield, a key extension of Fort Stewart, Poetter Hall at Savannah College of Art & Design and the Savannah Music Festival.

In addition, Walmart will demonstrate its commitment to the community by donating grants to the Humane Society for Greater Savannahand Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, both local organizations chosen by its associates. One associate, Vernice Harris, has seen the store evolve from opening day to its re-grand opening, and is particularly excited to see the transformation.

Other stores undergoing remodels in Savannah include locations at 10530 Abercorn St., 1955 East Montgomery St. and 160 Pooler Parkway in Pooler, Ga. This year, Walmart has set a goal to remodel more than 650 stores across the U.S., including 20 in Georgia. Before 2025, Walmart invested more than $1.1 billion to upgrade stores throughout Georgia in the past five years. With 209 retail units and 13 supply chain facilities, Walmart employs over 65,000 associates in the Peach State.
