Savannah On Wheels is pleased to announce the launch of Pedal with Purpose, a new monthly community bicycle ride dedicated to supporting local nonprofits. Beginning September 21, 2025, the ride will take place on the third Sunday of every month at 5:30pm, starting from Savannah On Wheels, 405 W Hall Street, and covering a scenic 5–7 mile route through Savannah.

Each ride will conclude at a local restaurant, where participants can purchase food and drinks, and a portion of the restaurant’s sales from the group will be donated to that month’s featured charity. “Our vision for Pedal with Purpose is to bring people together, get them out riding, support local restaurants, and give back to the community we love,” said Melissa Austin, Owner of Savannah On Wheels. “It’s a feel-good way to be active, meet your neighbors, and make a difference—one pedal stroke at a time.”

The inaugural ride will take place on September 21, 2025 at 5:30pm with proceeds benefiting Bike Walk Savannah, an organization dedicated to promoting an equitable environment for biking and walking in Savannah. This month’s post-ride gathering will be hosted at A Taco Affair, known for its most original taco experience.

Pedal with Purpose is free to join, but advance registration is requested so organizers can plan for the group. Riders of all experience levels are welcome, and the route will be a “no-drop” ride, ensuring no one is left behind. Helmets and lights are encouraged.
