Chatham Emergency Services EMS Captain Moira R. Romeo Receives Exchange Club of Savannah “Paramedic of the Year”

The Exchange Club of Savannah recently presented Chatham Emergency Services EMS Captain Moira Romeo with “Paramedic of the Year.”  The annual event, which recognizes multiple area first responders, took place on October 10th at Carey Hilliard’s Southside location. 

Born and raised in Savannah and recently promoted to EMS Captain, Moira Romeo is a 32-year-old EMS professional with eight years of dedicated service to her community. A graduate of St. Vincent's Academy, Captain Romeo holds an associate’s degree in EMS and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in EMS education. Over the years, she has served as a Field Training Officer, responsible for teaching and mentoring new EMTs and paramedics. She is also an active EMS Instructor. She joined the officer corps as a lieutenant, allowing her to have a key role of lead preceptor for developing new EMS providers and being on the front line of EMS operations.

I thrive in a career that challenges me daily while offering the profound emotional reward of making a tangible difference in the lives of others."
